34067 Tangmere Mainline Ticket Expires 2009!

Well Tangmere Mainline ticket expires this year, although her boiler certificate runs out 2012. So, she will more than likely be heading for a preserved railway; but which one?

She is looking a bit tatty inside, although the exterior is still looking good; from recent pics that I have seen. So from the cab, I would imagine the owners arent bothering too much, due to her withdrawl from the mainline following I suspect 17th Dec?

I would imagine that she might be either taken out of service and overhauled quickly, or she might be run out of Carnforth? I can't imagine she will run on a preserved line in the south?

Also I have to add that if Tangmere was to have an extension her ticket for mainline use that surely it would be updated here..... http://www.uksteam.info/tours/locos.htm

Well, in this day and age, if the new owner wishes to continue mainline running, a H&S Railway Inspectorate, will inspect the restoration at each stage. It will be No quick fix; so imagine she will be out for a few years!

How long was she oos at Carnforth for? Probably not long enough for any other works to be undertaken; than for the tubes being replaced. So the Inspectorate would have only examined this IMHO?
