Mainline Cancellations
Hi all,
From a message on Wrgen, it appears that tomorrow's (11/09/2013 Dorset Coast Express has been cancelled due to gauging issues. Here is the message;
Wed 11-Sep THE DORSET COAST EXPRESS [Times] updated (10/09)
London-Weymouth (WCRC) [wcrc]
34067 70013: Victoria-Staines-Southampton-Weymouth
34067 70013: Weymouth-Southampton-Wimbledon-Waterloo
[Loco change at Weymouth, steam banker to Dorchester]
[Return now behind 70013 from Southampton via Andover] RYTC
Here is the message;
"Just had this email. As was meant to be going on it but not now.
we are cancelling the Dorset Coast Express for tomorrow Wednesday 11th September.
We had found an alternative locomotive which was ready to haul the tour, but unfortunately Network Rail have refused this due to gauging issues, they therefore informed us that the tour would have to be diesel hauled throughout.
We have therefore made the decision to cancel the train and are therefore are able to offer you to hold your funds in credit against a future tour or to receive a full refund.
Once again please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment this late cancellation will undoubtedly cause.
Kind regards
Railway Touring Company"
