She worked a Canterbury special to mark 50 years to the day since the end of Kent steam. Whilst not directly Nine Elms related I hope the mod will accept this posting. After all the driver was Pete Roberts, ex Nine Elms fireman.
She looked and sounded absolutely magnificent passing Paddock Wood at 76 mph with 13 on for around 500 tons.
Later according to JC on the train she climbed Sole Street at 39 min after reaching 42 on the climb. Some sort of record with steam and this load?
Apparently for once the coal was decent allowing Pete to work her hard without worries about poor steaming. Long may she roam the rails giving such pleasure both to those on the train and at the lineside.

Does anybody have any fond memories of 34067 from the 60's?, whether it be lineside or from the footplate?

Yes she was, but I believe in the early years, that she was at Dover. Maybe Don, will clarify this for us?

Tangmere was a Dover engine during the 1950s and up until about 1961 I believe, then Exmouth Junction until withdrawal in Novmeber 1963

I often wondered how many of the Bulleids got transferred from a depot from one side to the other side and if so id they go on a journey from say Dover to say Nine Elms and the final leg of their journey to say Exmouth Jct?
