34067 Tangmere

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the progress is with 34067? What work is being done on the loco? On UKSteam.info the loco is still pencilled in for a trip in September. As i understand it the work has been dropped back because of the repairs and overhaul of another loco?

Looks like 34067's return to the mainline will be closer to Christmas. 44932 is now taking the Battle of Britain Memorial train on September the 15th and the Cathedrals Express to Bristol and Bath on the 7th of October the is now in the hands of 6201.

Hopefully Andrew will not mind but here is a picture of Tangmere's Boiler taken at Carnforth on 14/09/2010.

Hi all,

There is talk on SteamTube about Tangmere being due back into service soon. Can someone tell me the latest please about any mainline test run or dates she might be due back. I've noticed on Uksteam.info that her tours have been taken off and replaced for the rest of this year.

Tangmere was being warmed / steamed at Carnforth yesterday (the 19th). Hopefully a test run will be on the cards soon.

I'm going to try and take some photos at Wadhurst.

Doesn't seem as though 34067 is available for this tour now as 44932 is now covering? Problems with the loco?

Is anyone going out to photograph 'Tangmere' sometime tomorrow on the Sussex Belle? I should be somewhere between Wadhurst & Etchingham.. I haven't decided yet.

The latest update on Tangmere is that with the last trip she retired with a Hot-Box. Lets hope this can be remedied for the next trip. Was certainly nice to see the many videos with her Nameplate on at long last!!
