Class 40 - D200
Hi all,
I was just reminscing back to when I was a young lad and seeing Class 40 (D200 - The Green Goddess) on railtours. Does anyone have any information that they can possibly share please as to whether she is operational etc... Last I knew was that she was in the hands of the NRM?
Thanks in advance
Andy

I can't seem to find any info on D200 on the NYMR from 2005 onwards? Is she still running. Thanks for the link Pete. I see the website shows the 'Whistler' as operational, just nothing since then.

According to the nrm website D200 is in the main hall presumably on static display.

Latest news on the 'Green Goddess'
"25 years ago today D200 entered the National Collection. This loco is the first of ten Class 40s ordered as part of the 1955 modernisation plan and is the first type of diesel to be rostered for express passenger duties. We are currently looking at restoring this historic loco, subject to funding, and are in discussions with a number of interested parties."
