34081 "92 Squadron"
I've just read in the latest Steam Railway that Jeremy Hosking is looking to buy 34081, taking his tally of Bulleid pacifics to four!

34081 is to move back to Wansford on the Nene Valley Railway to be overhauled, it also means that the the guy's doing the overhaul will not have so far to travel!

34046 is his third bulleid loco, as for 34081 mentioned earlier in the thread her owners currently have no intention of selling her.

There is a recent update in the Photograph Gallery section of http://www.92squadron.co.uk/ showing 34081 having her boiler lifted ready for moving to Chatham.

Just the small matter of persuading the blowdown valve to come off then as you say off to Chatham. Glad to see things progressing.

Certainly looks as if they are not hanging about with the loco in this shots such as this one here;
It does seem as though an awful lot of rust is evident though? Possibly surface rust?

Re: 34081 "92 Squadron"
Does anyone have any recent updates with regards to how the Overhaul is going and has JH definately bought the loco now??
Re: 34081 "92 Squadron"
Have a look on the homepage under "Overhaul Photo's", the first page that loads is for work progressed from July 2012, the photo's give a good idea of how the rest of the loco is prioceeding now the boiler is at Chatham. Archives also show earlier pictures from the first half of 2012, 2011 and 2010.
