Re: 35006 P&O
I did see this last week and there was talk and a start about a dedicated website for the loco. Might possibly have to do with the time/People etc to get the loco to fully working order??
Re: 35006 P&O
Another update on P&O here: http://www.gwsr.com/enthusiasts/departments/po-restoration-project/progress-reports/2010/july.aspx
As i understand it the Cladding is ready to go on. I wonder if the wheels will be dropped to be worked on and the Rods and Slide Bars will be removed to be worked on?
I wonder if 35006 will steam next year??

Another new update on 35006 is here; http://www.gwsr.com/enthusiasts/departments/po-restoration-project/progress-reports/2010/october.aspx
There seems to have been alot of re-jggling in certain areas such as the backhead cladding and the Firehole door. But they have purchased 34066 (Spitfire) smokebox door. As it seems 35006's door was near the end of its life.

Quote from the site states "In 2011 we hope that a number of 'big shiny bits' will be going on the chassis for their final fit, and that a recognisable loco will start to emerge from the thousands of parts that make up such a complex machine."
So I wonder does this mean she will be steamed and running this year??

Another update on 35006 is here;
Is the end in sight? It seems as though this Overhaul/Restoration has been going on for some years now. And it seems as though they are not experts in Overhauling Bulleids going by the help and comments from the Midhants Railway?

Re: 35006 P&O
It looks as though 35006's return to steam is going to be delayed by another year because of the recent theft on the GWR. This is because the whole brake ejector has been stolen. Very sad news! Here is the link; http://www.gwsr.com/news/latest-news/£60k-metal-raid-on-gwr.aspx
Re: 35006 P&O
November update on 35006 is here;
Looks to be coming on well and could very well see 35006 returning to steam (Hopefully) at some point next year as long as a new brake ejector is cast by then.

Re: 35006 P&O
Thanks for pointing us towards that. Does look indeed like some great progress is being made despite the losses.
Really looking forward to seeing 35006 back in steam.
Keep up the good work guys!

Re: 35006 P&O
Further restoration update available on the GWR website. As I'm new here, apparently I'm not allowed to post links for seven days. I'll try to remember to do so next week.
To answer an earlier post on this thread, wheels, tyres, axles all done on P&O, no need to drop the wheels again. Same with slidebars etc.

Re: 35006 P&O
Hi Pete,
Many Thanks for that update. Is this the one from April? If so I did see it; but forgot to post it.
Also on a different matter I have removed the option/s for new members to be able to post links etc now. Apologies for that.

Re: 35006 P&O
Yes, it was the April update that's on the GWR website, we should have another update there soon. In the meantime, here's some shots taken last summer when we were shunting the loco.

A new brake ejector has been received, so we're nearly back where we were before the robbery.

Re: 35006 P&O
Hi all,
Another update on the GWR website here;
The loco is close to getting the cab refitted along with the Tender to make it look like a running loco once more. Does anyone know when this is due to be finished?
Many Thanks
Andy

Re: 35006 P&O
I have just heard elsewhere that the cab and the tender since this was written have been reunited with the loco?? Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?
Re: 35006 P&O
Both true as seen by 35006 Loco Society members on 6th October, when the loco was on display outside the shed at Toddington.

P&O was in the car park during the GWSRs Black to Back gala and she looked fabulous! A friend of mine went and he got a couple of great photos which can be found here http://locoyard.com/2014/06/04/back-to-black-the-didnt-quite-make-its/

Hi all,
Here is a video of 35006 first run Steam test, but only running on 2 Cylinders.... As I understand it the middle engine needs a bit of sorting out.
