Yet another Newbie
Hi all,
I'm sorry to say that I was never at Nine Elms and completely missed out on the steam era all together . However I found this site whilst trying to find out more information on my favourite class of loco - the Merchant Navy. After a quick look through the topics I was amazed by the various accounts of people's experiences with loco's etc. I was hooked! I hope you all dont mind that I'm not an ex-driver or fireman or anything railway related - infact I'm starting my second year at college!
I have had a life-long intrest in railways, and have a large(ish) layout in my loft. Since I was about 12 I found that my intrest really lied with the Southern Region. My first SR pacific (model by the way) was 35011 General Steam Navigation (and sods law ensures it is the one that goes wrong every so often - 3 trips to Hornby repair dept. so far). 35011 is also my favourite!
I have developed a love of the railways and am so dissapointed for missing out - I hope to enjoy the tales other members tell of the wonderfull SR pacifics if you all dont mind that I was never at Nine Elms

Hi General Steam Navigation, hope that you enjoy your stay on here. If you can make a can of tea; then you will be ok.
Remember, keep the back corners filled up, and under the door.

Apart from Spitfire, there was no other railway-related beer at the GBBF last week!Admin wrote:Tea? Us lot only drink the good Brews!
