Lymington Branch 421 CIGs!
It is with regret, that I have to imform you that Units 1497, and 1498; are to be withdrawn from March 2010. I have been imformed of this, from a very good source.
The service will, as you are already aware by 158 Units, from said date!

I may as well bang my head against a huge brick wall now then - And hope it's a nightmare???
Hopefully I can get a ride on these before then if that is the case - Although I can find out if these units are going to be withdrawn from a source of my own as probably 34017 Ilfracombe knows?? Before 2010..... It'll be likje where I live with Turbostars crossing the bridge every few hours!!.... please

Re: Lymington Branch 421 CIGs!
A few months earlier than planned is the use yesterday afternoon of a 159 on the Lymington Branch!!! 1497 is OOS at the Depot and 1498 has developed some sort of fault, looks like the 15.29 from Brockenhurst could well be the first Diesel to operate a Timetabled service over the Branch before their planned introduction in May 2010. If Class 400 availability keeps falling then this may well become a regular thing sooner rather than later
Bad News indeed

Re: Lymington Branch 421 CIGs!
Does anyone know if these 2 units have since been scrapped? Or are they reserved for preservation?
Re: Lymington Branch 421 CIGs!
1498 on it's Retirement Special from Waterloo to Brockenhurst on the 10th July 2008!
Re: Lymington Branch 421 CIGs!
It seems as though the EOR (Epping Ongar Railway) is offering 3-CIG 1498 up for sale??? As to why, not sure..... http://wnxx.com/forsale/
Can anyone shine any light on to why this is and where the Unit may go?
Thanks.
Andy
