Hi all,
Yesterday there was news that 47500; which is well known to be on the back of mainline Railtours was yesterday de-railed and seen on Fire whilst taking the ECS back to Carnforth? Does anyone else have any more information please?
Here is a photo from yesterdays incident.
Thanks.

As an update the following is believed;

"It was 5Z47 Ardwick - Carnforth ECS consisting of 47854 Top n' Tailed with 47500. It was 47500, the rear loco, that derailed and caught fire. The loco came off the tracks whilst negotiating pointwork" Images here; http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/manchester-train-fire-derailed-heritage-1237448

Thankfully, no one was injured....
