Vauxhall Station to Nine Elms shed walking route.

Majority of us used London Transport buses 109, and 159 routes. With the RTs, and came along every 4 minutes in those days.

Then walked down Nine Elms road, passed The Brook, and Adas Cafe, which was a small shack, and then through the gates past the timekeepers office. And then past the Shedmasters offices, where rife rumours concerning 2 Clerks (male + female) carried on their own filing system

Of course you could always pick up a Steak & Kidney pie, Bacon Roll from Ada, and later in the day, after P&D, congregating in The Brook.

Oh, happy days!

Does anyone know how long the walk took? how did most Enginemen get to Nine Elms shed? Was it walking via Vauxhall station or via another method?

There was and still are 3 large council estates plus a Peabody estate around the old Nine Elms Depot i would have thought most would have lived in them.
