We've done Jacket Potato's before now in the smokebox! They take ages mind you! But do arf taste good!!

Put an onion on the manifold and leave for about 1.5 hrs, place cheese butty on shovel in firebox about 30sec per side - Cheese and onion toastie and the cab smells wonderful all day!

30 secs and it would be cremated!!! But I like the sound of it - The next time I get on the footplate again unfortunately will be once I get another job!!

I think some of us know what a real English breakfast tastes like off the shovel? Either lovely and cooked in no time at all - Or either completely cremated!!!

I've recently seen some Stews done in the smokebox! And from everything I've heard takes a few trips on a preserved line! Any calculations and info why some they do so well and others they don't cook? Surely the Smokebox when a loco is in steam and running it will heat and cook things quicker and when stationary will keep it hot..... A bit like a slow-cooker.... Hope this makes sense?
