Six A4s to be reunited for Mallard 75th anniversary
News in Heritage Railway Magazine explains that all 6 surviving LNER A4 Pacifics are going to be reunited at the NRM in 2013. This includes the 2 abroad. This should get alot of publicity. Of course it will need it, to pay for the costs of transporting these 2 to the UK. Does anyone know if 60019 Bittern will be turned back into her own green guise livery with the correct number and nameplates?
Re: Six A4s to be reunited for Mallard 75th anniversary
Heritage Railway has now confirmed that 6 will be in attendance and that includes No. 60008 Dwight D Eisenhower, and No. 60010 Dominion of Canada. As part of the deal 60010 will undergo some Cosmetic Restoration.
Any reason why these aren't being overhauled and Steamed in the US?
Also is the other reason these 2 were sent to the US because of their names?
