Good news all. Number 925 Cheltenham is to join no 850 Lord Nelson after her overhaul. It seems as though 925 is to be overhauled in the same shed as 850 was at Eastleigh!! Good news for the MHR! Yet another fine engine to join the fleet.

Hi all,

Not sure if anybody has been checking the site/blog on the Midhants website; but after almost a year at Eastleigh and coming on leaps and bounds. 925 had it's first fire lit since steaming in 1980! Steam test is this Thursday 12th January 2012. Lets hope she passes with flying colours. Once the Superheaters have been fitted the boiler will then be reunited with the frames.

The MHR are doing a fabulous job as they always do! High praise indeed.

the latest up-date. 925 boiler passed its steam test with flying colours, it was sent to eastleigh on 24 january. then put on tressles loaned to us by KNIGHT RAIL, the ash-pan was bolted under the boiler and hopefully will be sat in the frames 31st jan or 1st feb. then its lots to do refitting parts also painting other parts ready.
chris smith is running the show, and if anyone can spare their time to help he would be gratful. contact him via this blog more up-date later.
